Self-Taping Tips for Actors & Parents of Young Actors

Join Confidence Coach Michele Partridge for a 2.5-hour workshop and learn how to help yourself, your child, or any actor shine in every self-tape.

What Actors and Parents Will Learn:

  • How to set up a proper audition/self-tape space at home for actors of any age.

  • What casting directors are looking for in a self-tape.

  • How to frame and light the actor correctly so they look their best on camera.

  • Tips for being an effective reader — supporting the performer without stealing focus.

  • How parents, readers, and actors can coach with confidence — encouraging natural performances instead of overdirecting.

  • How to read and interpret sides/scripts and casting notes.

  • Basic technical know‑how for recording, editing, formatting, and submitting tapes correctly.

  • Mindset, preparation, and encouragement strategies to help actors enjoy the process and build confidence.
